
The Fine Arts Department, through the National Museums Office, convened the meeting of the Thai National Committee for the International Council of Museums (ICOM Thailand) to strengthen collaboration among museum institutions, promote the safeguarding of cultural heritage, and advance Thai museums as spaces for learning and cultural exchange that connect Thailand with the global museum community.
The meeting was chaired by Mr. Prasop Riangngoen, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Culture and Chair of the Thai National Committee for ICOM. Mr. Phnombootra Chandrajoti, Director-General of the Fine Arts Department, served as Vice Chair, while Mr. Tossaporn Srisaman, Deputy Director-General of the Fine Arts Department, served as Secretary. Ms. Nitaya Kanokmongkol, Director of the National Museums Office, served as Assistant Secretary. The meeting was attended by committee members representing various government agencies and organizations appointed by the Cabinet of Thailand.
The meeting was held on Monday, 18 May 2026, from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m., at Meeting Room 1, 8th Floor, Watthanatham Wisit Building, Ministry of Culture, Bangkok.
This meeting reaffirmed ICOM Thailand’s commitment to fostering partnerships within Thailand’s museum sector, supporting professional collaboration, and contributing to the sustainable development of museums in line with the mission and values of the International Council of Museums (ICOM).
